The commercial viability of any resource of standing fibre is determined by what it can be turned into and the ability to manage the fibre resource under 3rd party sustainable forestry management certification such as FSC, PEFC, SFI or similar. We are connected into expertise in all aspects of forest fibre analysis management certification such as FSC, PEFC, SFI or similar. It is also important to develop working relationships with local forest agencies in a given territory.
CONVERSION
From our background with global and market leading forest product companies, we can review or develop feasibility models for small and large-scale manufacturing propositions.
There are many log conversion technologies covering a vast range of products from commodities to advanced engineered timber systems in the form of Mass Timber and similar. Plants that manufacture these products can range from capital investments of €20m to €300m+. We have the connections and expertise to provide 10 year financial models for these investment considerations.
PRODUCTS
Products, create the revenue stream and are determined by the fibre resource available to make it or them and commercial viability is determined by regional or global market demand for that product. We know the historical demand dynamics, the trajectories and supply channel profile of most timber product types. We understand the full route of compliance in all advanced timber using global markets. We have first-hand experience of almost every product in the mainstream timber and timber construction industry and the sectors that use them.
DISTRIBUTION
Without the supply chain, the product, whatever it is, cannot get to the market. We have set up and operated large scale distribution companies that import, export, and distribute timber products on a wholesale and global basis along with market integration models for mass timber construction. The supply channel varies considerably subject to what the product is, and this can range from independent local merchant chains to international distribution companies and specialist technical integrators and timber system providers.
CONSTRUCTION
The construction industry is responsible for 40% global carbon emissions, there is now a major shift towards large-scale sustainable building projects many of which are being designed and built in mass timber comprising of Cross Laminated Timber, Glulam and innovative hybrid solutions. When considering an investment in sustainable projects of this scale, it is critical to obtain detailed and specialist knowledge of the proposed technologies, the design methodology for the building type and an understanding of the programme and cost. Members of our team operate in this space from initial design through to delivering the building and have designed and delivered some of the largest sustainable and award winning mass timber buildings in the world.
ABOUT US
We are a small group of highly experienced professionals who are all still actively engaged in the forest industry and built environment sector. In our different but connected disciplines we are seeing a growing interest in investments in businesses or construction projects that are presenting low or net carbon propositions. For obvious reasons industries associated with timber are featuring in these considerations.
We have seen through firsthand experience that the investment community needs real world commercial insight and guidance with regards to large scale investments in this forest industry environment and we view that we are in a position to provide this directly or from our close network of affiliate partners.
